Daiwa BG Seabass

BG Seabass rods are quite simply made as the perfect match for their legendary sister reels. The high modulus HVF carbon blanks feature x45 cross-wrapped technology for even more bending and torque resistance, and a faster recovery to their initial shape. Fitted with Fuji Alconite Concept O guides, BG rods span all sea fishing needs, with lengths running from 1.95m to 3.05m and casting weights from 5 to 84g! You can now have every technique at your disposal as, just like the BG reels, BG Seabass rods come in at unbeatable value for money. The legendary BG label stands for Black Gold, and these rods have been given cosmetics to match this - they look like top-end rods. The black and gold Fuji reel seat ring and the black whipping define the very limits of quality carbon design.

Features:

  • High Volume Fibre (HVF) carbon wrapped with x45 technology
  • Spigot V-Joint
  • Fuji Concept O Guides
  • DPS Fuji reel seat in black finish with black and gold Daiwa locking nut
  • High density EVA handle
  • Fast tip action
  • Articulated black lure keeper

X45:

This manufacturing process involves layering spiral carbon fibres (90°), unidirectional fibres (0°) over three layers and two layers of carbon as helicoidal opposites (45°). These two crossed layers give the name Bias Cross Wrap.

The wrapping of X45 guarantees true elasticity: a return to the original shape of the blank irrespective of the angle of load.

 HVF:

A reduction in the quantity of resin used and increased carbon fibre adhesion during the hot-polymerising stage.

V-Joint:

The V-Joint is made from Bias carbon wrapped at45°, improving the curve and action of the rod under compression on the cast and the fight.
The V-Joint’s Bias carbon has a perfect shape memory – returning to its original position as soon as the force exerted on the blank is lifted.

Micro Pitch:

A micropigment finish is hot sprayed during the wrapping of carbon sheets. This removes the need for varnish, offering less weight and more sensitivity

FUJI O Guides

Fuji O Ring guides boast an aluminium oxide ring and a modernised frame – lighter still than the previous generation

FUJI

The FUJI logo is linked to a Daiwa rod featuring at least one FUJI element, whether it’s a reel seat or guide.

FUJI KOGYO CO., LTD was founded on 20 January 1945 in Japan and is the world’s leading rod component manufacturer. Daiwa and Fuji have been collaborating as Japanese manufacturers for decades. FUJI has the technical engineering know-how to respond to the increasingly high demands of anglers for improvements in their tackle. In this respect the company is on the same wavelength as Daiwa in terms of putting innovation at the service of the angler.

This is the story behind the FUJI guides, reel seats, rings and other components that you’ll find on numerous Daiwa rod ranges around the world.
